We have very good relations with our Amish neighbors. For gratis, they use all the fields around the high ground to plant silage for the milkers. They also harvest the quartz druze that we don’t use to sell at their farm stand, and do pretty good with it. (Author: vic rzonca)

We seem to have run upon a very hard section that splits, with much force, in inopportune ways, causing us to employ extremely sketchy operations. It didn’t work. There is a need to enhance our shim inventory. (Author: vic rzonca)

We settled in at the lowest part of the construction site, a small bit of mica on the top layer of dirt prompted me to scrape the surface in search of a fissure beneath. Clank! My mattock scraped and ricocheted off of a large quartz filled fissure about 10cm in width. Further, scraping revealed the length of the fissure at roughly one meter. Excited, I commenced to excavating the fissure. Through the whole length of the fissure I found mainly garbage quartz until out of nowhere this crystal (above) popped out next to the mattock. Words can’t explain how it feels to find something this rare and beautiful, so I will have to leave it to you and your own experiences to relate. (Author: Scott LaBorde)

Well her is "another" photo of Wavellite, but I had to include this one. This is one of my personal favorites. I like the habit and the color. This piece is of course from Garland County, Arkansas. the field of view is 3" (7.6cm) (Author: Jim Prentiss)

When I first started doing this list I was going to not do any repeats, however I have a good excuse in this specimen of Wavellite from the type locality at the High Down Quarry, Filleigh, North Devon, Devon, England. the specimen is 1 1/2" x 1" (3.81 x 2.54cm). Where do good vivianites come from? Trepca, yes. Bolivia, yes. Germany... Germany? Yes!! There is a locality in Bavaria, the Bayerland mine near Waldsassen, Fichtelgebirge. This mine gave crystals up to 10 cm in pyrrhotite. Normally the bigger ones (5 cm and more) are rather irregular but this one (more than 9 cm!) isn´t. I would say it´s the best piece of my collection! (Author: Andreas Gerstenberg)
